    Reliabilityweb.com has the recently updated D-I-P-F Curve (Design-Installation-Potential Failure-Failure) available for use. It includes descriptions of elements in each of the areas.

    John,

    A good example is in Rules of Thumb for Maintenance and Reliability Engineers by Ricky Smith;

    Hi John,
    Just a remark in addition to other replies, P-F curve is a generic curve and everyone has his own version of it.
    The below link from an Ultrasonic measurement site which tops up their technology over that of Ricky Smith.
    http://www.uesystems.com/news/understanding-the-p-f-curve-and-its-impact-on-reliability-centered-maintenance
    This curve focuses on the advance time that each predictive technique will give you ahead of failure.
    The ReliabilityWeb curve:
    https://reliabilityweb.com/articles/entry/the-reliability-impact-within-the-p-f-curve
    Focus on the reliability view of it i.e. which maintenance strategy will work best for you and on top of them comes reliability in the design phase.

    You are correct Ahmed.  The examples you gave are great.  When I searched the Google Images site (sorry, I called it Photos earlier), I saw  more ways of expressing the P-F curve than I could imagine.  That is why I recommended it.
