To start, I am a professional at this subject. I have spent a large part of my career as a strategic planner to various industries. Furthermore, thinking in terms of business and operational strategy is the beginning point to everything I do. It is the reason I took two business degrees covering all disciplines including accounting to the extent of being a CPA. I base the following on those experiences.
Whatever you put out there must be of a nature that it will guide the short- and longer-term behavior. Directional statements are ultimately simple, but not so obvious. I rarely see good ones. They rarely make statements that have alternatives-e.g., we are going to increase our costs.
Rather than a forming a slogan, think about forming a three-level value statement-the enterprise will be able to, by, as the result of. Building the levels is challenging and takes a great deal of thought, but your reliability department will be much better for it.
Your thought process (https://analytics4strategy.com/trn-datadrvnmntcop) must start at the top and move to envisioning the processes to succeed at the top. Your "able to" will reflect the top. Your "by" will reflect the envisioned-or existing if they are appropriate to the top-processes. Your "as a result of" will reflect the methods and programs to succeed at the BY.
After all of that, if you still want a slogan, one will emerge to state the entire value statement in a phrase. But don't call it a slogan or you will hear about Deming.

Subject: Reliability Department Slogan
I don't like calling it a slogan. We prefer a vision. Our company spends a lot of time writing vision statement 1-2 sentences and then even more time connecting people to the vision. I would suggest brainstorming on the things you want to focus on (write down keywords) then try to arrange those into a vision statement. We bold the key words we want to connect people to. In this manner people do not have to remember the whole vision but they should be able to remember the keywords. Having a connection with the work they are performing and the vision or key words helps align the organization and ultimately change the culture.
Keyword examples: Reduce Cost, Proactive, Maintain, Best in Class, Customers, Technology, USDT
Vision Statement Example: Our vision is to reduce cost and unscheduled downtime with the use of new technologies. This will make us best in class by proactively maintaining equipment for our customers.
Hope this helps.

One of my clients is developing a slogan for their Reliability Department and is looking for examples. Anyone have a slogan that they use or have a recommended slogan?
