SMRP is seeking 6-8 committee members holding a current Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification with experience as a technician or managers of technicians to serve on the Maintenance & Reliability Knowledge (M&RK) Committee. 

 

Background

SMRP’s Maintenance & Reliability Knowledge (M&RK) Committee developed the framework for the SMRP Body of Knowledge using the five pillars of knowledge, including Business & Management, Manufacturing Process Reliability, Equipment Reliability, Organization & Leadership and Work Management.

 

Purpose

The M&RK Committee was formed to develop a descriptive and comprehensive reference document to be used as a definitive source for information within the maintenance, reliability and physical asset management profession. The committee completed the first two levels of SMRP’s Maintenance & Reliability Body of Knowledge, which provides the basis for the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) examination. The M&RK Committee will also focus on creating a reference document for the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) examination under the four domains including Maintenance Practices, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Analysis, and Corrective Maintenance.

 
Eligibility & Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work effectively and collaboratively in a group
  • Demonstrated leadership and professionalism
  • A Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) or demonstrated understanding of CMRT domains and examination
  • Must be a member in good standing
  • Must review and sign the SMRP Code of Conduct annually
  • Must adhere to the Antitrust Policy

 

Estimated Time Commitment

1-3 hours per month; includes one teleconference per month and other meetings as necessary

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive guide for the CMRT examination using the four domains including: Maintenance Practices, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Analysis, and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Work with other committee members to review domain content and revise for publication
