Reminding my colleagues, I have included this list with my signature for more than a decade.
Safety is sometimes considered a checklist to comply with policy and by some, fewer each year, an annoyance with no benefit. Employers and employees working together improving safety practices, improves personal safety and shows the employer is supporting personnel.
Improved safety reduces downtime and protects short term personal income by keeping the employee working and protects company revenue which ensures long term personal income, a win-win.
As a business practice, safe work costs less. Injured personnel, damage to the environment or equipment negatively impacts the budget due to medical or environmental or equipment recovery, fines, loss of workforce and downtime.
