Our current EAM provider has announced the retirement of the system that we are currently using. We are beginning to plan for a transition to a new system. We are hoping to improve on our experience of an EAM roll-out. The roll-out of our first facility-wide EAM was problematic. Inconsistent engineering records and drawings, cultural shifts and poorly defined desired functionality of the system greatly reduced the benefits of the EAM. We are addressing all three of those areas mentioned. But, I wanted to ask this audience about the third area mentioned - poorly defined desired functionality.
What have other users used as a template for selecting a replacement EAM/CMMS? We are especially interested in improving the defined functionality of the new system. We would be interested in hearing personal experiences and lessons learned. Please feel free to include any technical references/guidelines that were used successfully.
