  • 1.  Setting AM Policy

    Posted 08-31-2023 07:01 AM

I'm currently working on the AM Policy for the organization and curious if anyone could provide some examples or specific guidance on a length, what to include, or other relevant information. I have a draft but just wanted to see what other organizations have some up with to gauge off of.

    Thanks!

    Hi Daniel

Some thoughts for the AM policy:

    1. Review the other organisational policies, in order to ensure that the AM policy is consistent in format/tone and content
    2. Clarify who will approve the AM policy, e.g. CEO, VP
    3. Identify and consult with stakeholders for its formulation
    4. Consider what AM principles are already internalised, accepted and practiced, however they have not been captured so far in a formal document
    5. Once the AM policy is published, the AM strategy may have to be revised to align it with the policy
    6.  Aim for a one page document
    7. Consider how the various aspects of AM will be addressed, e.g. EHS, compliance, equipment performance, availability, reliability,  sustainability, lifecycle costs, capital investment, disposal, risk
    8. Plan how the policy will be communicated

    Best regards

    Michalis
