Description:

The Government Relations Committee consists of three working groups, each with a group leader and members that focus on SMRP’s three priorities, Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure, Workplace Safety and Workforce Development. The working groups are led by SMRP Government Relations staff. Each Working Group has a Chair who reports to the Government Relations Committee Chair.

Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure

The Government Relations Committee was formed to facilitate outreach and relationship building with key policymakers on Capitol Hill and in the regulatory agencies to discuss SMRP’s public policy priorities. The Working Groups also help influence policy by positioning SMRP as a thought leader in government.

SMRP believes in a sound cyber-defense strategy and that research into the potential threat through the first line of defense and the inter-connectivity between companies, vendors, contractors, and subcontractors is the first-step towards better understanding the threats posed through IoT devices.

The SMRP Government Relations team is currently looking for volunteers to join the Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure Working Group Committee.

If you are interested in joining the Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure Working Group and making a substantive impact in the realm of policy and advocacy, please take a look at the questions below:

  • Are you a subject matter expert on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure?
  • Is your company specifically involved or impacted by cybersecurity issues and policies?
  • Have you had previous experience advocating on behalf of your company in Washington, D.C.?

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions or have a general interest in joining the group, we would love to hear from you!
