The SMRP Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) is seeking qualified individuals to participate in a two-day item writing workshop for the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) Exam. 

Background

Item writing is a critical step in SMRPCO’s exam development process. To ensure the CMRP exam continues to be a rigorous, experience-based exam, SMRPCO enlists the help of qualified volunteers to write and edit questions for inclusion on future CMRP exams.

Item Writing Workshop

Pearson VUE’s content development team will facilitate a virtual item writing workshop for 12-15 subject matter experts (SMEs) online on February 17 and 18, 2022. 

During the two-day workshop, Pearson VUE will train participants on:

  • Item content guidelines
  • Item terminology and writing guidelines
  • Metadata
  • Item writing tasks, goals, and processes 

After training takes place, participants will spend time individually and as a group writing and reviewing questions.

Requirements for participation

  • Must hold an active CMRP credential
  • Must be able to fully participate in both days of the workshop (9:00 AM Eastern to 5:00 PM Eastern on February 17-18, 2022).
