The SMRP Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) is seeking qualified individuals to participate on an advisory council for the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) exam from June 2021 to October 2021. This is a virtual volunteer opportunity.
CMRP Advisory Council Background
SMRPCO is conducting a practice analysis (sometimes referred to as a job task analysis) and validation study for the CMRP exam. SMRPCO is seeking eight (8) individuals that represent stakeholders for the exam (e.g. CMRPs, hiring managers of CMRPs, etc.). The primary responsibility of volunteers will be to review and refine, if needed, the existing CMRP pillars and task statements and discuss the rationales for other existing scheme elements.
Meetings & Activities
The CMRP Advisory Council will meet and advise on the certification program from June 2021 to October 2021, with the majority of the work happening in June. Meetings will take place via teleconference. Participating volunteers will be responsible for preparing for and attending meetings, as well as completing assignments outside of calls.
Considerations for participation
- Must be able to actively participate on up to five teleconferences from June-October 2021 and complete all independent review work
- Cannot be on the SMRP Board of Directors or SMRP Certifying Organization Commission

Applications will be reviewed by the SMRPCO Executive Director to ensure variety in experience, industry, role, etc. Applicants who are chosen to participate will be contacted by SMRPCO staff. Though SMRPCO encourages international certificants to participate, please be aware that you must be available for calls between 9:00 AM Eastern and 5:00 PM Eastern.
