Description:

The SMRP Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) is seeking qualified individuals to participate in a two-day item writing workshop for the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) Exam.

 

Background

Item writing is a critical step in SMRPCO’s exam development process. To ensure the CMRP exam continues to be a rigorous, experience-based exam, SMRPCO enlists the help of qualified volunteers to write and edit questions for inclusion on future CMRP exams.

 

Item Writing Workshop

This year, Pearson VUE’s content development team will facilitate an item writing workshop for 12-15 subject matter experts (SMEs) in Atlanta, GA on February 18-19, 2020.

During the two-day workshop, Pearson VUE will train participants on:

  • Item content guidelines
  • Item terminology and writing guidelines
  • Metadata
  • Item writing tasks, goals and processes 

After training takes place, participants will spend time individually and as a group writing and reviewing questions.

Participants will receive complimentary meals, including a group dinner, during the workshop. As a volunteer-driven organization, SMRP/SMRPCO will not be able to provide travel and hotel accommodations.

 

Requirements for participation

  • Must hold an active CMRP credential
  • Must be able to travel to Atlanta, GA on February 18-19, 2020
  • Cannot be on the SMRP Board of Directors or SMRP Certifying Organization Commission

Having diverse participation at the item writing workshop is key. Applications will be reviewed by the SMRPCO Executive Director to ensure variety in experience, industry, role, etc. Applicant who are chosen to participate will be contact by SMRPCO staff. Please note, submitting an application does not guarantee participation.
