The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) is seeking participation from qualified subject matter experts (SMEs) in developing content related to the M&RK Body of Knowledge Pillar 4: Organization & Leadership.
Topics include:
- Determining organizational requirements
- Analyzing organizational capability (inventory staff skills, determine performance gaps)
- Developing organization structure (reporting channels, roles and responsibilities)
- Developing personnel (training, hire needed expertise, career pathing)
- Leading and managing people
Background
There has been a growing demand by members to offer more in-depth education and exam preparation opportunities. SMRP is seeking SMEs to deliver career development opportunities and to advance the next generation of maintenance and reliability professionals.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Volunteers must be members in good standing and hold the CMRP
- Volunteers involved in content development used as training or preparation for certification should not be involved in any role that would provide them exposure to certification exam items, including: item writing, item review, form development, standard setting or proctoring; therefore, they may not participate in the following SMRP committees or activities during the duration of their involvement in training:
- SMRP Certifying Organization (SMRPCO)
- CMRP Exam Team
- CMRT Exam Team
- Item Writing Workshop(s)
- Form Review Workshop(s)
- Standard Setting Workshop(s)
- Exam proctoring
- Individuals involved in content development used as preparation for certification may be involved in job task analysis or practice analysis
Estimated Time Commitment
1-10 hours per month; includes teleconferences and time between calls
Responsibilities
- Participating in Pillar Team calls and providing progress updates to Pillar Lead
- Meeting deadlines assigned by the Pillar Lead and/or communicating delays to realign expectations
- Develop learning objectives for each topic outlined in the M&RK Body of Knowledge
- Content mapping to each objective using the standardized template provided in ShareFile
- Develop knowledge checkpoints and learning assessment quizzes or activities to test understanding of the material
- Suggest graphics, audio, video, animations, or other multi-media
- Identify other independent learning opportunities
- Identify course duration by topic

Application Selection
Applicants will be reviewed by the BoK Pillar Leads to ensure variety in experience, industry, roles, etc. Applicants who are chosen to participate will be contacted by SMRP staff. Please note, submitting an application does not guarantee participation.

Volunteers must be members in good standing and hold the CMRP and/or CMRT designation
