M3 by Infor CMMS

My CMMS is really an add-on module to the Infor M3 enterprise resource planning software.  It's clunky and non-intuitive, not to mention quite the challenge for my Techs.  Does anyone have experience with this CMMS, and/or know of any resources to assist?

    Thank you.

    Dave,
Are you using MP2 for CMMS or new Infor EAM?

    Dave,
give me a call (2102045587). I'd like to understand your specifics. Generally, Infor EAM is one of the better EAM packages, in terms of user-friendliness.

Hello Max, we lost contact awhile back.  Would you still be able to have a conversation about M3 CMMS challenges?  We're now considering scrapping this portion, and I think we may be putting the proverbial cart before the horse.

    Thank you.

    Gentlemen,

My company is moving to INFOR next year. I think we are going for the whole EAM package; however, I think hearing about your experience will help us anyway. If there are specific issues that are being addressed, I'd really like to hear what those issues are and how to best address them so that I can pass on those lessons learned to our transition team.

    Thanks so much.

The idea of EAM is wonderful - the ability to manage all aspects of all assets.  However, one needs to understand that competing priories/requirements of the different business units in a company complicate the final look and function of the overall EAM system implemented.  This has been my experience at the University of Minnesota.  To be clear, it is not that there is any one business unit that is being unreasonable, just the various requirements sometime tend to conflict.

I had a colleague describe the process as a large family buying a boat that had something for everyone, the ones that liked to fish, water ski, cruise on the lake.  In the end you have something that can do it all, just not something that does everything well.
