Dear colleagues,
I have a question regarding defining sensory inspection as preventive or predictive maintenance. If we look at the SAE JA1011 standard, if an inspection is performed without being based on the time or age of the equipment (even if it is sensory) and predicts a failure, it is considered predictive.
However, according to the BOK, to be considered predictive, it needs to generate predictive actions, such as a reliability analysis.
In the end, is sensory inspection predictive or preventive?
