  • 1.  Solar Titan 130 Turbines- Natural Gas with Generator

    Good day

    I am working on gathering the data for the PM system for our Solar Titan 130 NG turbines and was wondering if anyone has any information on failures they have seen with these machines I should incorporate. As they are new to us we don't have any information besides what is contained in the O&M manual. They are being operated on Natural gas and have a 17.5 MW generator.

    Hi..... Brett H,
    Just to share my experiences, in general gas turbine reliability may be effected by these common items:
    1. Loading pattern (such as sudden load increase etc)
    2. Lube oil quality/quantity
    3. Inlet filter performance
    4. Cooling water quality/quantity
    5. Control & Instrumentation reliability (tripping due to false signal), poor tuning & design
    6. Number of starts
    7. Running hours overdue
    8. etc
