My experience has been activity is mostly centered around condition monitoring - vibration analysis in particular. After that I have typically seen a definitive wear out time frame on the pump - bearings, shaft and impeller so that a target changeout time might be targeted.
Aside from above, a few other things to check on a routine.
- Packing adjustments or repacking.
- Motor lubrication
- Verifying or resetting impeller clearance on occasion.
- Could check pump performance (flow, pressure, motor load) to note wear.
