Howard W Penrose, Ph.D., CMRP, is the president of MotorDoc LLC, veteran owned small business electrical and electromechanical systems consulting, research, field-service, and test equipment (EMPATH and ECMS) provider. He is a past-Chair (2018) of the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) and the past chair of SMRP Government Relations and the Cybersecurity sub-committees. He has been directly involved in working with Federal organizations and elected officials in the development of cyber-strategy in relation to IoT devices before it was considered cool. Penrose is a five-time recipient of the UAW-GM People Make Quality Happen Award, an award winning author, past officer and present standards development member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), present (2020+) Chair technical standards wind/solar/geo/energy-storage for the American Clean Power Association, and involved in the windpower powertrain standards and maintenance committee (ACP), and is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), and AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
