In my experience, the limiting factor is cycle time of the motors. It is tricky to capture stable vibration data for an FFT on something running for less than a minute. With infrared, short cycles do not usually allow heat to build. You might have success tracking the overalls for vibration and ultrasonics, ...

That is a good question. The short answer is YES. The task of sensory inspection should be time or age based. The action taken based on the findings would be condition based. If the inspection identifies a known failure mode with a measurable rate of decay, then it is predictive. ----------- ...
