  • 1.  SAMP (Strategic Asset Management Plan)

    Posted 08-19-2025 12:53 AM

    Hi @everyone!

I am Roland Baybayon, Planning Superintendent of Minergy Power Corporation, a 3x55MW Thermal Power Plant located in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. We intend to make our own SAMP but we don't have a template for it. I would like to ask if someone in the group can share us your template if it is okay to share to us. We will just use it as a guide in making our own SAMP which fits for our organization.

Thank you very much. God bless.

If you're setting out to write your first SAMP internally, the best resource for guidance on creating a Strategic Asset Management Plan is Annex C in ISO 55002:2018, which can be purchased from ISO individually or as part of the complete ISO 55000 standards. This newer revision has specific guidance on what to consider for inclusion and how to structure the document.

I've also heard mostly positive reviews of the online course offered by the IAM: Creating and Maintaining a Strategic Asset Management Plan. I've seen it offered every few months.

All that said, I'm also available to help you personally if you find that you need assistance. In my time at Life Cycle Engineering I've helped organizations of all sizes write their first SAMP and keep it updated as part of establishing their asset management system. Feel free to message me directly if you're interested.

    Hi Brian,

Thank you for your recommendations. We plan to purchase the ISO guidelines you mentioned. Also I've checked with IAM website and they have scheduled online course on Sept. 23-24, 2025. I'll also plan to join this course.

I really appreciate your gesture in responding to my post. By the way, I checked LCE website, such a great and rock solid organization. Helping other organizations succeed in the field of asset management and reliability.
